Concrete Foreman - Hiring in Green Bay

A Concrete Foreman is the hands on Leader for crews of craftsmen who have demonstrated knowledge about and the ability to place, consolidate, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect concrete flatwork.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day to day operations on current projects
  • Coordinate materials & equipment needed for daily tasks
  • Ensure crews are performing to their abilities & daily objectives
  • Maintain schedules to meet project schedule deadlines
  • Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work accordingly to specifications.
  • Ability to take flat work pour from prep to completion.
  • Assists in establishing grades for slopes, flatness and ADA requirements.
  • Proper installation of subgrade, reinforcing and placement per job specification.
  • Patch and finish any type of repair work.
  • Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment.
  • Ability to meet with owners, general contractors, and others in a professional manner
  • Ability to hand finish edges, pipes, drains and other obstacles in flatwork pours.
  • Patch and finish any type of repair work.
  • Troubleshooting and adjusting to changes.
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety.
  • Setting of concrete footing, wall, and slab forms.
  • Ensure that forms are properly constructed for concrete pours.
  • Maintain a clean job site
  • Maintain the appearance of company equipment
  • Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Maximize problem-solving through communication with coworkers and work hard to find solutions to problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 years’ experience in concrete
  • 4 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Extensive knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to field construction.
  • In-depth understanding of concrete construction procedures, materials and project management principles
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience with tying rebar, setting footings, flatwork, wall
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tool equipment.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Both indoors and outdoors and subject to variable weather conditions
  • Primarily physical and often strenuous. 
  • Frequent work with moving mechanical parts, sharp or rough materials, sharp tools, power equipment, and working in situations where there is risk of slips and falls.
  • Hours of work will generally average 40 to 44 hours a week.
  • Some variation in work hours due to project work levels, deadlines, and other customer needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walk, prolonged standing, climbing, bending and kneeling
  • Use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lift and/or move 25+ pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
