Diversified duties include: coordination of timely and accurate month-end close, preparation of financial statements and analysis in accordance with GAAP, balance sheet/income statements, P&L and accruals.  The Controller will provide senior leadership/accounting expertise in the finance group while overseeing performance of junior level roles; also ensures that all aspects of the billing cycle of construction projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner; process and ensure all AIA requisitions are prepared for either bank funding or third party billing; ensure training and compliance of all project teams with respect to project accounting procedures; secure prompt payment from clients - pursue collection of accounts as directed; investigates appropriate bonding and insurance as required by contracts and localities and ensures proof of same to release payments; manages payment process and oversees status for subcontractors and produce monthly report on same for Management; and coordinate audit activities with Independent Auditors.

Other duties include budget, forecasting and strategic planning, as well as revenue, expense and cash management/treasury functions.  Work on related outside contracts, familiar with construction insurance, risk management and maintain banking relationships.  Act as process improvement/efficiency specialist and also responsible for job costing, sales and sales tax, tax returns and payroll taxes.

The ideal candidate will have: at least 5-7 years accounting supervisory experience and management experience with at least 4-5 years construction accounting experience; a Business or Accounting degree - advanced degree or CPA preferred; excellent organizational and management skills; extensive experience and knowledge of corporate construction accounting and financial management; ability to work proactively as a part of a team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and proficiency in Timberline Software, MS Excel and MS Word required.
